Default what is osteoporosis?

:( Osteoporosis, ois caused when there is an imbalance between bone building and bone destruction. People lose bones as they age, inspite consuming good amounts of calcium required to maintain optimal bone health.

henxe calcium intake should be maximum till age of 30 as bene is deposited highest till that age n provides a good foundation for future. . The loss of bone with aging is due to many reasons, like genetic factors, physical inactivity, and lower levels of circulating hormones.

My father who is nearly in his 70s has also been suffering from the osteoporosis conditions, incidentally some family friends were suggesting that the Yoga asanas can be a good option in this case, so I would be obliged if any knowledgeable person suggest me some of them.

The suggestions are indeed welcome, as simple yoga practices for the joints would help him alleviate the problems but it requires a little consideration and monitoring keeping in mind the age in which he is in, and therefore the exercises should be performed very gently. For the choice of the specific exercises it would be best to consult the doctor beforehand and then seek the advice of a specialist who might have ample experience in the Yoga filed for a long time. In addition I would also like to mention that as osteoporosis is regarded as a calcium deficiency leading to significant wither of the bones it must be borne in mind that the said decay of the bones cannot be reversed under any circumstances. Along with medicines, watch what he eats. You will manage to keep osteoporosis at bay and also reduce, by increasing the intake of vegetables, fruits, salads, etc. and reducing the intake of starch, sweets and oily foods.

I would like to add some interesting facts here regarding Osteoporosis. Women are more likely to get this Osteoporosis than men. Interestingly among women, those who are short and thin are more likely to get this in comparison to women who are tall and large in appearance. people from Asia more likely to get this problem in comparison to people from other parts of Asia. and yes..older people are more likely to get this than younger ones. Hope you will find these informations useful.
