Default She is extremely obese

Hi everyone, I was wondering if you could help me to help my friend. She is extremely obese. She is so depressed but she can’t see it. She has just been evicted from her home. Her odour is very unpleasant but she doesn’t seem to care, despite it being pointed out to her. She puts make up on and does her hair and is, in those ways appearance conscious, but she doesn’t seem to notice other things such as a missing tooth, too much makeup, and the way she dresses. She can hear people make fun of her; I guess she tries to blank it out. She doesn’t want to see a doctor. Her husband just left her. She has no motivation, no will, no self confidence, but she 'seems' happy in herself which suggests to me that it is much deeper and therefore more serious. I want to help her I live abroad now so it is hard to reach her. Does anyone have anything to say? Where do I go? I know she needs to help herself to get better but she needs help before she dies. Any advice would be immensely appreciated.

I don't think you can help your sister. She has to want to help herself. You can tell her you love her and that you're concerned about her. Tell her that you are there for her if she needs to talk. She is obviously going through some rough times right now, and she may not even think she deserves anything better than the place she is at in life. Good luck.

Well I must say that I am shocked to hear all this. Are there such people too in the world?
I don’t know what to do with her except that you can talk to her and make her realize things. Well have you ever talked to her on this topic? What was her reaction?

Even I am surprised to read all this. But if all this is happening then I think that she’s either fed up of life or she’s not concerned about her appearance at all. Well it is very important to find out what is going on in her mind first. I suggest that you take her to a psychiatrist.

Well tesha,i've always seen those running to seek for help when they are obese but never came across one who is so at ease with her excess weight.Well i guess that you need atleast once talk to her and make her realise what she is and what she could be.I guess this would be a very good start.

Well dear, the case of your friend is a very special one.I guess she is a gown up person but still she did not pay attention to herself. Why don't you try to make someone very close to her to talk to her and make her understand about the problem.
