Default what would be better for me to trim down?

I have stopped working 3 months ago and have noticed the weight slowly creeping up on me.I am about 168cm and currently weight 72kg. While I was working I was able to keep my weight at about 64kg.I have bought myself one of those exercise balls, that come with workout dvd's, and I workout Monday to Friday for about 1 hour per day.Nothing seems to be happening.Should I be doing different exercise? If so, what would be better for me to trim down?

I used to only eat once a day in the evenings, but now I try to eat more often. I usually have an apple or some eggs for breakfast and then eat apples or sultanas during the day and then my evening meal.I have cut out the most fattening foods ie: cheese, chips and biscuits. The problem is that nothing seems to be happening, if anything I am slowly putting on weight
Last week I weighed 71.5kg and today I'm up to 72kg!!With all the exercise I've done I would have thought I'd shed at least 2kg instead I put it on!

Are you doing any cardio?? You need to do cardio or at least walking - something that involves moving around to really burn calories and eventually fat. Sounds also like you may not be eating enough if all you eat is apples all day, body may be in starvation mode with a lowered metabolism.

How long have you been exercising? It could be that you have a slow metabolic rate that’s why you are not losing weight. I’ll tell you to be more patient and continue with your exercises.
