Default “Glycemic index”

I heard that there is a new diet called “Glycemic index”. Does someone know about this? Can you please tell me more on this?

Some people with diabetes use the glycemic index as a guide in selecting foods — especially carbohydrates — for meal planning. The glycemic index ranks carbohydrate-containing foods based on their effect on blood sugar level. Foods with a high glycemic-index value tend to raise your blood sugar faster and higher than do foods with a lower value.

This seems very interesting but I never knew about this. Can someone provide us with more information on this?

Really. Was not aware of this. I have an aunt who has diabetes I’ll ask her whether she follows this diet.

It’s the first time that I am hearing about this diet. Is it only for people who have diabetes?
