This is not a good way to lose weight. Really, the "weight loss" experienced after using laxatives is due to a loss of water weight and is not true weight loss. Laxatives are very dangerous to use for extended periods of time; they can prompt heart attacks, inability to have a BM on your own without laxatives, painful cramps & diarrhea & stomach upset.

Overuse can cause serious electrolyte imbalances, prompting vomiting (more electrolyte imbalances) and muscle weakness.... Laxatives stimulate the bowel to empty, but this is after all the calories have already been absorbed from the food, so what you are losing is just water weight...... Moreover, after your body dehydrates from the laxatives, it may hang on to some of the water, causing bloating.Stay away from laxatives!......... They are dangerous and should NOT be used for weight loss and should only be used sparingly in cases of bad constipation.
