Default How to prevent and help overweight children

Here are some guides how you can help your children maintain a healthy body weight and cope with their overweight problem.

1.Be supportive cause overweight children need acceptance, encouragement and love.

2.Set guidelines for the amount of time your children can spend watching television or playing video games.

3.Plan family activities that involve exercises instead of watching TV,

4.Be sensitive. Find activities your children will enjoy that aren't difficult or could cause embarrassment.

5.Eat meals together as a family and eat at the table, not in front of a television. Eat slowly and enjoy the food.

6.Don't use food as a reward or punishment. Children should not be placed on restrictive diets, unless done so by a doctor (for medical reasons). Children need food for growth, development and energy.

7.Involve your children in meal planning and grocery shopping. This helps them learn and gives them a role in the decision making.

8.Keep healthy snacks on hand such as fresh, frozen, or canned fruits and vegetables; low-fat cheese, yogurt or ice cream; frozen fruit juice bars; and cookies such as fig bars, graham crackers, gingersnaps or vanilla wafers.

9.Focus on small, gradual changes in eating and activity patterns. This helps form habits that can last a lifetime.

Thank you a lot normy. I can assure you that it’s not that easy to cope with life and the problems when you have an overweight child. I’ve been fighting so much to get my son weight down but that not working . I guess with your tips, I’ll be able to cope better with all the problems.

Thanks for sharing these tips with us.
Children don’t know what is go
od and what is bad for them. So, it is the responsibility of parents to control the eating habits of the children right from the start.

That very nice what you proposed normy.I guess we should fight obesity since childhood else it becomes a very hard problem to deal with it afterward.I'm just talking out of my own experience. I guess if only i had someone to guide me on the right track,i would have never stand where i'm.
