Default Who should go for saunas or steam baths!

Hello! In this modern era when fitness is the key I would like to know about the effectiveness of the saunas or the steam baths regarding the weight loss factors. Moreover as it is easy and does not require any skills from the individual taking this process then it would be an ideal option for my mother. However I must add that she is a cardiac patient and this is one of the main reason for which losing weight is a compulsion this is also the advise of the doctors too! So I hope that either of these processes can help her eliminating her obesity problems, so which one should be more better to go for?

I am afraid that your mother cannot be regarded as the ideal person to undergo the processes of sauna or steam baths alike. These are absolutely refrained for those having cardiac problems. The sole aim of the steam or sauna baths are to stimulate the cardiac operations and in process the heart rate can increase all of a sudden and this your mother cannot tolerate owing to her problems. Moreover as you have said that the primary goal of your mother is to lose weight it can be said that there can be some weight loss initially but the effectiveness is very short lived and weight can immediately regained by simply drinking any kind of fluids. Yes, the doctors advise to lose weight is justified but then there are several other options as well which also do not require the person to be skilful as there are many exercises which can be done in the comfort of the home and that too with the aid of the household utensils, so this would be a more better option for your mother than the ones which you are considering think of it and if in a dilemma consult a fitness trainer who can then help pave out ways for the likings of you and your mom. Bye.

ya rosemary may i suggest u some things which will help ur mom and also not require to get her to the hassles of those steam bath or saunas or whatever. well we all want comfort isn't it and this comfort is the one which is killing us. i do not mention to say that killing here refers to the bodily death but this for sure brings us to obesity so first get rid of that wahing machine and see that she wash cloths by hand this is sure to provide her with lot and lot of exercise the goodies of which will be seen by all believe me cloth washing is a very fine exercise.

hmm it looks to me that the sauna bath is not suiting to many including u this is probably the sixth case i am hearing that sauna has caused some problems. in ur case saint i can understand one logic behind ur face going red, and that is while in the sauna bath the body is exposed to heat and hence it would require an outlet to pass out the heat and this is being done by the areas of ur skin which is making ur face go red, and for this u would ideally require to make a lot of preparations so that this problem does not problem u and oh! u r not being exposed to a heart attack so just put this thought in the trash. lastly for rosemary's mother i asked her to refrain from sauna for cardiac reasons but now i would say that there are more better ways to remain fit and just discard the idea of sauna altogehter.

there is good news for people who might want to take the benefits of sauna as they do not have to go and lock themselves up in a room to have the sauna bath, ok let me get into the detail, it was the first time that i saw this in tv that there is something sold as a product called the sauna belts that can be effective in burning of the fats around the waist area with the heat it is able to generate, now the tv people i knew were merely advertising their products so it was bound to show some good reviews but later i came to know that my brother also got one for himself, i am talking about the same person about whom i asked in this forum remember that one who couldnt ressist eating! and he has got a lot of relief from using this he said, and the best thing is as the name suggests that u can just wear it and do almost anything u want, it continues its work while u do urs, i will like to hear from others who might have heard or tried this product.

I have also watched the sauna belt on T.V,just curious if it burns the abdominal fat or just the fluids that are present in the region? How long does the effects last?
